Preparing To Breastfeed Course

(3 x 1.5hr Modules)

Self-Guided Course £30

This Course is designed to get you all prepared and ready for breastfeeding or combination feeding your baby.

The course focuses on understanding the biological norms and infant feeding needs. The course explains how breastfeeding works, how milk is made and controlled by your body and your baby. We dive into how you can prepare yourself and plan for a successful breastfeeding journey by learning how to develop and assess good positioning and attachment, as well as troubleshooting for when things aren’t right.

The course also takes you through the mistakes new mums often make, as well as how to manage and overcome common barriers to breastfeeding such as nipple damage, mastitis, tongue tie, engorgement and more.

With links to lactation consultants, national breastfeeding helplines and organisations as well as apps to download and many videos to watch, this course will also broaden your support networks to not only give you the knowledge and skills to be able to trouble shoot those first few days feeding a newborn, but also to know when and where to get extra help and support.

Handouts, further resources and links to fantastic reading and support networks as well as are included with this course.
